Which Deriv platform is easiest for beginners?

For a first trade, Deriv Trader is the simplest of Deriv's own platforms: one screen, a chart, a stake and a contract. Deriv Bot automates trades with visual blocks and no code. Deriv MT5 and Deriv cTrader are full CFD platforms with leverage and are harder to learn. Start on Deriv Trader with a demo account.

This is the line-up on Deriv's site on 9 October 2026. Deriv adds and retires platforms, and which ones you see depends on your country.

Why not start with MT5?

MT5 is a professional CFD platform: lot sizes, margin, leverage, swaps and order types all have to be understood before the first trade. A mistake in position size there is expensive. On an options platform the stake is the most a trade can lose, which makes early mistakes cheaper.

About Deriv Bot

Deriv Bot ships with preset strategies that its page names as Martingale, D'Alembert and Oscar's Grind, all of which change the stake after a result. Deriv also notes that the bot runs in your browser and pauses if the browser is closed. Learn what a preset does to the stake before running it, and test on demo.
