Where can you learn how to use Deriv for free?
You can learn Deriv for free from Deriv Academy, which offers free courses with quizzes, short guides, ebooks and video tutorials, and from the demo account, where you practise with virtual funds. Deriv's help centre and community forum answer specific questions. You do not need to pay for a course, a mentor or a signal group to start.

A four-week path that costs nothing
Week 1: the instrument
Take a beginner course on the market you chose. Place twenty demo trades on one contract and write each one down.
Week 2: risk
Learn stake sizing, risk-to-reward and drawdown. Set a daily demo loss limit and keep to it.
Week 3: charts
Candlesticks, trend, support and resistance. Describe the chart before every trade.
Week 4: review
Add up the month from your journal: win rate, average win and loss, and how often you broke your own rules.
What you should not pay for
- Signal groups that promise a win rate.
- Bots sold with guaranteed profits.
- Mentors who ask you to open an account through their link and deposit.
- Account managers who offer to trade for you.
Paid education is not always worthless, but nothing a beginner needs is locked behind a payment, and much of what is sold is marketing for someone's referral commission.
How to judge free content too
- Does it explain how the method loses as well as how it wins?
- Does it show the arithmetic, or only screenshots?
- Does the author profit when you deposit?
- Can you test what it says on a demo account?
Apply the same questions to this site, and test what it says on a demo account before you rely on it.
Questions people ask
- Is Deriv Academy free?
- Deriv describes its Academy courses, ebooks and guides as free.
- How long does it take to learn Deriv?
- The screens take a few days. Learning to trade without losing your deposit takes months of practice and honest review.
- Do I need a mentor to trade on Deriv?
- No. A demo account, a journal and the free material are enough to learn the essentials.
