Who owns Deriv and where is the company based?
Deriv is a group of companies, not a single firm. Its website names Jean-Yves Sireau as founder and Rakshit Choudhary as Chief Executive Officer, and describes Deriv.com Limited, registered in Guernsey, as the holding company. Trading accounts are held with separate entities in several jurisdictions. Deriv says it has served traders for over 25 years.

The companies Deriv names

This is the list on Deriv's regulatory page on 9 October 2026. Deriv also says the group is registered with the Financial Commission, which is a dispute-resolution organisation and not a government regulator.
Which one is your account with?
Deriv's terms say your contracting party is the entity your account is registered with, and that the entity decides the governing law and the products available to you. Two clients in different countries can therefore have different protections. Find the entity named in your own account and its terms, then look that entity up on its regulator's register.
Where it has offices
Deriv's contact page lists European offices in London, Reading, Paris, Berlin, Birkirkara in Malta, Limassol in Cyprus, and Guernsey, and names further regions in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Oceania.
Why this matters to a trader
- Regulators differ a great deal in how strictly they supervise and what they guarantee.
- Complaints and disputes are handled under the law of your entity's jurisdiction.
- Product availability, including which contract types you see, depends on the entity.
