Over/Under on Deriv: the odds for every digit

In Over/Under you pick a digit and predict whether the last digit of the final tick will be greater than it or less than it. The digit you choose sets the odds exactly: Over 3 wins on 4 to 9, six digits in ten. Landing on your chosen digit loses. Easier choices pay less and harder ones pay more.

The odds for every choice

Over 1 / Under 8880%0.25
Over 2 / Under 7770%0.43
Over 3 / Under 6660%0.67

Over 5 / Under 4440%1.50
Over 6 / Under 3330%2.33
Over 7 / Under 2220%4.00
Over 8 / Under 1110%9.00

The last column is the profit a fair contract would pay. The payout Deriv quotes is lower, and the difference is what the contract costs. The same cost exists on every row, so no row is a better deal than another.

The detail people miss

The chosen digit itself loses on both sides. Over 5 loses on a 5, and Under 5 loses on a 5. That is why Over 4 and Under 5 are the two even-chance choices, and why Over 5 is a 40% trade, not a 50% one.

Choosing the shape of your results

  • High-chance rows, such as Over 1, win often and pay little. One loss cancels four wins or more.
  • Low-chance rows, such as Over 7, lose most of the time and pay well.
  • Middle rows behave like Even/Odd.

Switching sides after a loss

A popular rule starts on one side and takes the other after a loss. Because each digit is independent, switching neither helps nor hurts the odds of the next trade. What matters is the stake you place on it.

In FXNOD

Over/Under is in Trade Pilot and Bot Forge. One Bot Forge template starts on Under 7, a 70% trade, and takes the other side after a loss.

Questions people ask

What does Over 3 mean?
The contract wins if the last digit is 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9. Deriv's own example says it loses on 0, 1, 2 or 3.
What is the safest Over/Under choice?
Over 0 and Under 9 win most often, about nine times in ten, and pay the least. Winning often is not the same as being safe.
Is Over 4 the same as Under 5?
In odds, yes: each wins on five digits. They win on different digits.
