What fees and charges should you check before using Deriv?
Before using Deriv, check five costs: the payout on options, which is where their cost sits; spreads and overnight swaps on CFDs; fees your payment provider may charge on withdrawals, including crypto network fees; currency conversion; and what happens to a dormant account. Deriv's help centre says it charges no fees for deposits into your Wallet.

The costs, one by one
| Cost | Where it applies | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Payout margin | Options | The cost is in the payout quoted for each contract |
| Spread | CFDs | The gap between buy and sell price, per instrument |
| Swap | CFDs held overnight | Charged or paid per night, per instrument |
| Deposit fee | Funding your Wallet | Deriv says there are no fees for deposits |
| Withdrawal fee | Taking money out | Deriv says your payment method may charge one |
| Network fee | Crypto withdrawals | Deriv's terms make you responsible for applicable network fees |
| Dormancy | Inactive accounts | Deriv's terms treat an account with no transactions for over 12 months as dormant, and it can be charged |
The cost you do not see: the payout
An option has no commission line. Its cost is the difference between what a fair contract would pay and what it does pay. If an even-chance contract returns a profit of 95 on a stake of 100, you need to win more than 51.3% of the time to break even. That gap is the price, and you pay it on every trade. Read the payout before each purchase.
Dormant accounts
Deriv's terms treat an account as dormant when it has recorded no transactions for more than twelve months, and allow Deriv to make an adjustment in its favour then and every six months while it stays dormant. They also allow funds of 1 USD or less to be removed after 30 days of inactivity. If you stop trading, withdraw your balance.
